Empowering a Law Journey: Help Carlos Achieve BAR Certification in Portugal

Fundraising Goal: €4,550

Dear Supporters,

Since 2005, I've been on a dedicated journey in Law that started with my bachelor's degree in Brazil. Along the way, life tested my resilience: I faced the illness and eventual loss of my mother to cancer, followed shortly by both parents passing away in 2012 and 2013. These events profoundly impacted my life, but they also deepened my commitment to using my skills to make a positive impact through law.

In 2014, I moved to Portugal to pursue an international experience in law and academia. Since then, I've worked hard, balancing studies and jobs, which led me to where I am today—a PhD candidate with a scholarship in Lisbon. Yet, despite this progress, financial and entry barriers have kept me from directly practicing law. Without the opportunity to complete a law internship and BAR certification, I've been unable to fulfill my goal of becoming a licensed attorney in Portugal.

The internship and BAR certification process in Portugal, necessary for my career, involves a total cost of approximately €4,550 for the period of 24 months (BAR registration and exam fees) plus extra costs due to the equivalence of the internship position, along with the challenge of limited income opportunities during this period. Your support can help cover these expenses, finally opening the door to a legal career I've worked so hard to pursue.

The EBS Project Research Centre is on a mission to revolutionize access to knowledge by creating an independent, open-source educational platform that inspires curiosity, fosters critical thinking, and promotes meaningful dialogue. We are building a space where students, educators, researchers, and professionals can collaborate, publish, and grow, no matter their academic level or background.

But we can't do it alone.

To get this project off the ground, we need your help. Our goal is to raise the initial funds to deploy the EBS Project Research Centre Online Platform and cover its first year of operational costs. With your support, we can:

- Launch an Accessible Online Hub: A user-friendly platform for publishing, debating, and sharing scientific ideas.

- Maintain the Platform: Keep it secure, reliable, and up-to-date during its critical first year.

- Promote Knowledge Equality: Provide free and open access to tools that empower anyone to engage in the academic and scientific community.

To achieve our vision for the EBS Project Research Centre, we've carefully outlined the costs required for the platform's deployment and initial maintenance, which covers the design and implementation of the platform, including 30 dedicated work hours dedicated to building a functional, user-friendly website. It also ensures the safety of our online presence with domain hosting and maintenance for a two-year period.

Furthermore, the same investment will apply to implement tools to automate audience outreach, ensuring we connect with academics, professionals, and students worldwide effectively.
