The Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) is an international association established in 1963 to foster professional and scholarly activities in the field of criminal justice. ACJS promotes criminal justice education, research, and policy analysis within the discipline of criminal justice for both educators and practitioners.

Under the mission – Transforming Justice through Research, Education, and Practice – as the foundation of the association. Therefore, ACJS actively support a diverse member base comprised of people from a variety of backgrounds including:

• Scholars who are international in scope and multidisciplinary in orientation,
• Professionals from all sectors of the criminal justice system, and
• Students seeking to explore the criminal justice field as future scholars or practitioners.

Furthermore, ACJS provides a forum for disseminating ideas related to issues in research, policy, education, and practice within the field. Through the vital interchange of ideas, ACJS members develop and share knowledge about critical issues regarding crime and criminal and social justice. 

Instituto de Saúde Orofacial

The Instituto de Saúde Orofacial (Dental Health Institute), based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is considered a pioneer and skilled professional initiative inside dental care treatments area, that covers mainly aesthetic dental treatments and orthodontics, applying the latest technologies available in the market.

Its leader, Dr. Liana Lima Pinheiro, is the current President of the Brazilian Academy of Dentistry, carrying out a PhD and Master degrees in Orthodontics and Facial Orthopedics, also a Specialist in Orthodontics and Functional Orthopedics.

Her mastery demonstrates that a high level professional skill combined with an innovative business vision in the area of ​​orthodontics is self-determined as a success factor in her journey, therefore a model to be reproduced in our society.
